Revelations of the SATOR Square

What are the discoveries that the SATOR Square brings us?

It is worth reviewing them at the stage of our reflection after these first five articles.

Let us take a look at the discoveries that the SATOR Square

brings us

1. The SATOR Square is above all an inscription

4. It contains the cultural concepts of three major civilizations

5. Its author is the apostle Paul

6. It is one of the first sources of Christian iconography

7. It is at the origin of the Asturias banner

8. The rebel graffiti 1312 and ACAB also draw inspiration from it

9. The SATOR Square reveals where the center of the universe is

10. The SATOR Square has a great connection with ICHTHYS

11. The SATOR Square also advises us

12. This inscription invites you to discover more for yourself!

1. The SATOR Square is above all an inscription

Although the SATOR Square presents itself quite often in the form of graffiti in the first centuries AD - which attests to its modest and noble origins, both public and private - this does not prevent its 25 letters from forming a coherent and understandable message: it is therefore a text and not a collection of meaningless letters.

Moreover, since the SATOR Square can also be located in space and time, it can easily be placed in a specific historical context and a specific geographical situation. As this inscription is not the result of a random collection of letters, it cannot have intended to be a magic square in the beginning, nor even a talisman or any other form of hobby, however interesting it may be.

Its primary purpose is to transmit information, as well as any written text made available to the public (1).

2. It is a Latin inscription

We have shown that the words that make up the inscription are all written in Latin, even AREPO, which does not seem to be so at first sight. The SATOR Square therefore includes 5 purely Latin words and 3 neologisms which are EPO, OPE and ERA, words borrowed from Greek for the first time to our knowledge in Latin literature and epigraphy.

Knowing this, its message composed of 8 Latin words can be understood without using complex artifice (2).

3. It is a Christian Latin inscription

The more we examine this inscription, the more we are convinced of its Christian origin, which nevertheless already appears at the very first reading: we have the word SATOR (Christ) as the very first track and of course the cross that forms the two TENET and which a copy of the graffiti found in Pompeii highlights well, already before the year 79 AD.

Moreover, the links of this inscription with the universe of the Book of Books do not stop surprising us (3).

4. It contains the cultural concepts of three major civilizations

We have seen that this inscription is written in Latin with Greek neologisms. The Latin words borrowed from Greek vocabulary are found in large proportion (3 words of Greek origin out of 8 words in all). We also find Greek letters, the alpha and the omega for example, in the PATER NOSTER reading. In addition, we also find Hebrew concepts, the taw of TENET, to name but one.

As language includes a way of thinking, living and being, and as we have here Latin, Greek and Hebrew, we can say that the cultural notions of the Roman, Greek and Hebrew world are included in this inscription (4).

5. Its author is the apostle Paul

On the basis of the foregoing, we find in the entire Roman Empire only one influential man with knowledge of these three languages at that time, a Roman educated according to the most advanced Jewish tradition and who also mastered Greek, the international language of the Middle East: the Apostle Paul, of course.

Indeed, Paul is the ideal candidate to be the author of the SATOR Square, since he knew these three civilizations well, either because he had lived or studied there, or because he had announced the Good News there during his many journeys, from Jerusalem to Tarshish (Cadiz, Spain) most probably. He stayed for a long time in Tarsus (Anatolia, Turkey), in Ephesus, Corinth, Caesarea and even in Rome. A great traveller, he travelled almost throughout the entire Roman Empire, from East to West.

This inscription is therefore probably the only written testimony in Latin that we have from the Apostle Paul himself (5).

6. It is one of the first sources of Christian iconography

We find in this inscription the seed, the starting point, the source of many themes dear to Christian iconography: notably the cross, the chrism, the alpha and omega, the Cross of Victory, the Pantocrator and the five-pointed star (6).

7. It is at the origin of the Asturias banner

We have shown the link between the second degree reading of the SATOR Square and the coat of arms of Asturias, a province of Spain, which traces the origin of the coat of arms of the Principality of Asturias to almost 700 years before its creation (7).

8. The rebel graffiti 1312 and ACAB also draw inspiration from it

The inscription that encourages one to settle according to the divine order, the SATOR Square, contains 12 vowels and 13 consonants (12-13). Its opponents took these same numbers, but in reverse (13-12 or 1312) to make it a sign of revolt against the established order (8).

9. The SATOR Square reveals where the center of the universe is

We have seen how this tiny Latin inscription can contain such important astronomical information, including a key constellation in the night sky. The Romans knew how to be concise, but here we find the ultimate in brevity: a whole course in astronomy in a 25-letter inscription! (9)

10. The SATOR Square has a great connection with ICHTHYS

We see a definite link between the Latin SATOR and the Greek ICHTHYS for reasons of similar contents and identical forms of these two inscriptions, coming to make us think that they come from the same author (10).

11. The SATOR Square also advises us

The next article in this blog will reveal a new advice offered by this inscription...

12. This inscription invites you to discover more for yourself!

Indeed, this inscription is sparkling with life and has much more to give.

It is up to you to discover it for yourself, either by pursuing the tracks opened up by the reflections contained in this blog, or by examining others!

1. See (developments and especially conclusion). Since we have not yet found any graffiti of magic squares (whether they are 3 by 3, 4 by 4, 6 by 6 or 7 by 7 squares for example) throughout the Roman Empire, it is not logical to think, in our opinion, that the SATOR Square could have been one.

2. See Meaning of AREPO in

3. See, as climax of the articles in this blog, Indeed, this close link of the inscription with the Bible (and also with creation and even with the creator) emerges even more during a thorough analysis, as shown by the examination of the SATOR Square in its astronomical approach.

The first degree reading of the inscription is its actual reading, without changing the order of the letters: SATOR, the sower. On the other hand, PATER NOSTER, our Father, is, so to speak, the reading in the second degree: taking the letters out of their order and putting them back together again so that they make sense. Finally, in the third degree, that is to say, taking this time the letters from here and there, we discovered a new reading, the ASTRO reading, the star, the constellation (see, for this last reading:

Some comments...

2020.08.19 Ander Perez wrote in Spanish: I need to know why people don't follow these meanings as something sacred and why the message got lost with the time: few people know this...

Olivier replied: Hi! Thank you for your question and interest. Why was the original meaning of this inscription lost? I see two reasons: one historical and the other spiritual:

1) Restricted area of expansion: As a 1st century AD Latin inscription, the SATOR Square expanded further into the western part of the Roman Empire (Italy, France, England) rather than Eastern area (Greece and the Middle East). This is normal, because to the east of the Roman Empire, Greek was spoken more (the SATOR Square from Dura Europos, Syria, is written in Greek in the 2-3 centuries of our era and the person may not have understood the Latin language very well, because he copied it badly).

2) Its message brings opposition: Furthermore, understanding the message that this inscription brings implies a commitment on the part of the reader. We are for the truth and willing to know the truth, or we are not. If the truth implies, on top of that, something sacred, as you say, then we enter into something much bigger, something spiritual. If God exists, exists also - for the moment - his enemy, the devil. This is how I explain why this inscription is used (falsified) in the esoterics who have no interest in practicing that truth and even more would like to hide it as much as possible, because that truth implies, among other things, the end of the lie and the deceiver so the restoration of the kingdom of God in reality.

I hope I have answered your question. Best regards.

2020.09.07 Ander Perez wrote in Spanish: Why was this inscription falsified? What does it mean? That this Square is black and white? It is confusing but interesting for those who want to use it in such a way to interpret it.

Olivier replied: Dear Ander, Thank you for your new question, which also allows me to clarify my thoughts and complete my answer.

In fact, the SATOR Square aroused a lot of comments, already in the 1st century AD. See my article: . But in this case, adding a comment next to the inscription is not a forgery.

Now, when I said that this inscription was forged, I referred to the way in which the SATOR Square was copied century after century, but perhaps especially during the Middle Ages, where it was forged quite frequently. I will give you 4 examples:

1. It was represented with one of the letters written backwards, for example, the S or the N and all the other letters written correctly to the right. This Square can easily be read upside down, that is, but writing it by reversing just one of its letters is peculiar to Satanism...

2. Furthermore, as the SATOR Square has been taken up by esoteric circles, the number 666 has sometimes been added to its sides, for example. The number 666 is the symbol of the Antichrist, the adversary of the Christ, which is contrary to the message conveyed by this inscription, which is to reveal the Christ Himself.

3. The SATOR Square has also been represented in relation to the magic squares. We cannot say that it is one, because it surpasses them all for its intrinsic properties: moreover, it can even be read in 3D! See my article (photo at the beginning): .

4. And worse, perhaps, it was also written moving its lines to give the image of a bull's head, the animal that attacks God. See the end of my article: .

Finally, you wondered if this square was black and white. I can tell you that it is white, as it brings the light of life. The problem is that this inscription was quickly attacked by the world of darkness, as by the occult for example, a world that is black...

I hope I have been clearer now. Kind regards.

2020.09.13 Ander Perez wrote in Spanish: Hello, thank you very much for your answers: they clarify my doubts. I would like to continue learning more interesting and curious things about this world. Could you recommend a subject or something that helps me in my learning? Thank you very much.

Olivier replied: Dear Ander, To my knowledge, no global studies have been made on all the SATOR or SATOR ROTAS inscriptions discovered in the geographical area corresponding to the Roman Empire. Unfortunately, I have not found a general analysis of the approximately one hundred SATOR ROTAS from the 1st to the 16th century A.D., nor have I found any analysis of the inscriptions in their context, nor for what purpose they were used.

It would be a very interesting study to do, you are right. Perhaps you could undertake it yourself?

For my part, I set myself the goal only of deciphering this inscription because it had not been translated completely and coherently, and then analysing certain aspects of it according to its original context. In the end, I limited myself, in my blog, to analysing the two inscriptions found in Pompeii, which are the oldest and, in my opinion, the most significant.

I wish you good luck for your future research! Best regards.

2020.09.28 Ander Perez wrote in Spanish: Hello. Thank you for all your information. Well, I tell you my brother has an old talisman that is of unknown rare material. I would like to know where it comes from, so I did some research. Cheers, then. Now I'm doing research on the tetragrammatom and abramelin.

Olivier replied: Dear Ander, Thank you for your sincere mail. If the Tetragrammaton, JHVH, SATOR, Jesus Christ... lead to the world of light and to God, the talisman, idolatry, magic, abramelin... lead rather to the world of darkness and to the devil which is inferior to God.

If you want to help your brother, please - as the message of the SATOR inscription advises - tell your brother this warning from God: I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live (Deuteronomy 30:19). Kind regards.
